Pipestone Area Middle School is a Power of ICU Spotlight School and comprised of grades 6-8 with an enrollment of approximately 320 students. The school operates on a modified seven period schedule where students have core classes, an exploratory, physical education and health, and WIN/PRIME.  The WIN (What I Need) focuses on instructional interventions and enrichments for students based on academic data.  PRIME is used for Social-Emotional Learning along with support through the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) behavior approach.  Pipestone Area Middle School is committed to improving achievement for all students through a focus on learning the 4 C’s of communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking connected within standards based learning.  Communication of learning is kept up through our Synergy student information system and the Power of ICU notification system. Teachers utilize technology that accelerates learning with current software programs delivered through our student one-to-one chromebook initiative. Each classroom is equipped with a Smart Board and corresponding current software and technology.  A full service media center supports student learning. PAS’s modern facilities include a 1775 seat gymnasium, 200 seat auxiliary gymnasium, 630 seat auditorium, and an attached community library.
